Obama’s First Year in Office – Monthly Predictions

As I had predicted back in December 2007, Obama became the 44th president of the United States. The question now is how well can he do in his new job. Can he rise up to the challenges facing him and the country? Will his legacy be more like that of Jimmy Carter or Ronald Reagan? Or simply, is he up to the job?

Obama will succeed in his job but not easily. We already have seen bold proposals as well as significant missteps within his first 50 days in office. The rest of the year brings many successes and many failures. At this time, the luck of the United States as well as that of the US stock market is tied closely to Obama’s luck. The US stock market will move up when Obama’s luck is on upswing and vice versa. Obama’s luck is good in months of April, July, and August. Stock market will be on upswing in these months. On the other hand, months of June, October, and November bring bad luck for Obama resulting in major downturns in the US stock market in those months.

March 2009 (March 5 – April 3)

The first half of the month spells bad luck for Obama and he will encounter many obstacles. His luck improves in the second half of the month. Many unexpected positive events, albeit small, will help him in the second half of the month. The month will end with upswing in the US stock market.

April 2009 (April 3 – May 4)

This month is an excellent month for Obama. He will modify some of his plans that faced opposition previously. Many of his plans will show signs of success. Economy will show additional signs of recovery. Many of the problems of the past months will disappear. Sentiment of investing community shows improved confidence in Obama’s ability which cause DJI turn up and become bullish. Some financial institutions will report lesser losses and even profitability.

May 2009 (May 5 – June 4)

The first half of this month is OK for Obama but not the second half. Obama will travel overseas to a number of world leaders and allies during this month. Unfortunately for him, this trip will mostly be a failure. In this month, his inexperience shows through in his actions and invites public opposition. US stock markets go down later in the month.

June 2009 (June 5 – July 6)

This is one of the worst months for Obama. Obama is overconfident on his skills and makes grandiose decisions. Most of these decisions would turn out to be wrong. Everything would seem to go wrong for him. US stock markets would crash dramatically.

July 2009 (July 7 – August 6)

This is the best month of the year for Obama. His luck suddenly turns up. He realizes mistakes made in the last month and starts course correction. As things start to smooth out, the previous month begins to look like a bad memory. He gains public confidence resulting in a positive mood for the stock market. Dow recovers to 9,000-10,000.

August 2009 (August 7 – September 6)

Obama’s luck continues to be great in this month. Everything seems to go smoothly for him. Many companies begin to show better performance resulting in a mad rush to buy stocks. Housing sales improve but not their prices.

September 2009 (September 7 – October 7)

Obama thinks that he has successfully overcome the difficult period and becomes careless. His luck moves downward in the third week. US stock market sees short term peak in the second week of this month but soon takes a nose dive. Several major companies fail and bring the stock market down with them.

October 2009 (October 8 – November 6)

This month spells big trouble for Obama. He is perceived to be arrogant. US loses support of key allies and likely to enter into trade war with Russia, Korea, and China. This month shows the first signs of drop in real estate prices in China. Asian stocks drop dramatically followed by a smaller drop in US stocks.

November 2009 (November 7 – December 6)

Obama’s luck continues to worsen in this month. Trade relations are further strained as nuclear proliferation issues begin to surface. Obama encounters disagreements from inside and outside of the nation. Dow drops led by housing and bank stocks.

December 2009 (December 7 – January 4)

This month brings better luck for Obama. Conflicts and tensions begin to resolve. US stock market also recovers.

Obama "will succeed" in his job but "not easily".Ha, It was very, very EASY like never before 1,400 billions deficit plus 789 billions stimulus in 2009 and next year again 1,400 billions deficit and again stimulus?. And from 2008 we saw 1,200 billions deficit and again stimulus from 790 billions.SO within 3 years when you'll have $ 5,780 billions free money(IN DEBT) plus 0.25% interest from FED than "Obama’s luck" will be PERFECT.
About stock market again wrong "Obama’s luck",in months of October, and November bring bad luck for Obama resulting in "major downturns" in the US stock market in those months?. OCT/02/2009- DOW=9,487 points, Today DEC/04/2009- DOW hit 10,518 points.
I don't know how much Obama is "lucky", but many people in USA have BAD LUCK. Over 8 millions lost the jobs and over 25% of homeownwer are under water.
    Well lisen my predictions:

    2010- March -event
    2010-November -PANDEMIC fly
and start of the Global WAR
2010-December- Terrorist atacks-Panic on the Stock Market
    2011- welcome to WAR- China
    and collapse of $ US.
2012- Apocaliptical crash of the stock market

good, you will have a wonderful opportunity to develop the spiritual aspects of poverty and renunciation of personal wealth, when you listen to Andy's bad advice. you should give him all of your money, because you don't know what to do with it. then again, i don't know if he knows what to do with it either, unless he's keeping the real predictions to himself.

losses in the fall simply follow wall street's predictable fourth quarter losses. The bear market rally we are experiencing now is what is called a "dead cat bounce", and serves only to "con" less intelligent investors into investing their remaining money into the stock market, before it plummets further and they lose it to wall street. The real numbers of unemployment are much higher than what the government is reporting, right now it is at 16-18%. America is already experiencing inflation, and when the world loses confidence in the american dollar, and finally drops it as the world's reserve currency, the value of the dollar will plummet, and we will see overnight Hyperinflation. The bond market bubble is about to burst. The credit card bubble is about to burst. Inflation has increased 808% since 1950. Real wages have increased only 40%. The value of the dollar has decreased 97% since the federal reserve was formed. There is no way out of severe economic depression...this will be far greater than the great depression. This is true not only be looking at the realities of the situation, but by an analysis of chinese astrology, as well. I see that you changed your earlier, more optimistic forecast for the end of the summer, to one that is much gloomier. I think it will not be long until you change the rest of your future economic forecasts, as well.

in the post "2009 Year of the Ox : Chinese Astrology Ba Zi Forecast" you wrote:

"The property market of United States will continue to recover as 2009 is the year of earth. Employment statistics will improve as United States’ job market bounce back from the financial meltdown. This will in turn lead to an improvement of the world’s stock market."

Did you forget? None of this has happened, and you have indeed changed your later predictions to reflect this.

Now, the UN has jumped on board wanting to end the dollar as reserve currency. Tell me, where are is the recovery?

Property and financial markets have improved across the world but not the job market.

    Sun, 10/04/2009 - 11:06

"Property and financial markets have improved across the world but not the job market."

where have property and financial markets improved? japan is still in a recession, and it cannot raise the value of the yen. america is in a depression, but won't admit it. iceland is still in a depression. england is at risk of being downgraded. spain has declared it's in a depression. the commercial real estate market is set to collapse in america, which will trigger a new wave of troubles. spain's unemployment is at 30%, The US is at 21% using pre-hover era measurments. entire neighborhoods in detroit are being bulldozed and returned to nature because the city has lost 1 million people in 10 years. california (the 8th biggest economy of the world, remember) is in a state of fiscal emergency, it cannot pay its employees, it's cutting healthcare and education, schoolteachers are going on hunger strikes. tent cities are springing up all across the US, filled with people who have just lost their jobs. the stock market hasn't even come close to 14,000, where it was before the crash. it recently dipped another 200 pts. china is trying to buy as much gold in secret as it can, meanwhile, they had 10,000 protests already this year, and closed 60,000 factories. japan is in population decline, and soon won't be able to pay for social security.

you should be honest enough to admit that you are wrong. you do not understand ba zi.

Dear Anonymous, it sounds like you know something the rest of us don't by the way you spout off these economic statistics. If you're so wise, why don't you man up and make a 2010 economic/stock market prediction yourself instead of trying to nitpick every intricate detail of mastergoh's forecast??? I think mastergoh's 2009 forecast is overall correct in predicting the economic events/markets so far.

Dear Anonymous, there's an old saying.
"Empty vessel makes the most noise"

  • Anonymous (not verified)
    Fri, 11/06/2009 - 06:51

    tong

i made all of my predictions, and andy deleted them. why would he delete my predictions when dan asked for them. you better ask him where they are.

in fairness, he should delete all comments. if he did, i would stop leaving comments on this page, and not bother coming back to this site. because he has not done that, it just gives me reason to leave more.

i politely questioned andy about his methods, because I didn't agree with his interpretation. he said i had a primitive understanding, (essentially called me a fool) but couldn't tell me how his was better. a dog growls at strangers when its safe behind it's fence!

so, here are my predictions again. bare in mind, some of them have become, or are becoming true - i'm reposting, remember.

i said the commercial real estate market would crash. it has started, CIT has declared bankruptcy.

I also predicted a second bailout was on the way in america. companies like citigroup, goldman sachs, or jp morgan chase will threaten to declare bankruptcy in 3 - 6 months. they will demand a second bailout. I was right, in fact that same day i wrote my predictions, GMAC asked congress for more money.

I said gold would continue to rise, and the dollar would continue to fall. we are seeing that - gold is at new highs based on india buying IMF gold, and the dollar is at new lows (lost 13% purchasing power this year). this happened after I posted my predictions.

i explicitly said, get out of the american dollar.

andy's interpretation of obama's birthchart was wrong. I've done it myself. his earth element is too strong for him to be a good leader. he will be overly charismatic, but ineffectual. he will be strong, but will not bend.

his interpretation of the economy was wrong. he said the housing market would come back because this was an earth year. I said it would further crash because it was an earth year. who got that one right?

he said the economy would recover more quickly in the west, and take more time to recover in china. wrong again. american investors are fleeing to china to invest their money.

he got the wrong organ diagnosis for steve jobs, and advised him to eat the wrong foods for his condition. (example, in chinese medicine, bamboo is extremely cold, not hot. it is very bad for steve, if we are to believe andy's assessment of his health).

there is another expression tong. when your head is up your ass, everything smells like crap.

I am posting, because andy is a fraud, and misusing these ancient arts. if you want to be swindled, if you don't want any real insight into your life - and you're not interesting in transforming your life based upon that insight, then by all means, give him your money.

andy - i'm sick of posting. I'm giving you some options. A) leave this post up, (you can delete this last paragraph, where I'm telling you what to do). B) if you want to delete this post to save face, then delete every single post on here, if you do either of these two options, I will stop posting on here, and never bother you again. if you simply delete my post, i will re-post it, again, and again, and again, i promise.

    Dear Anonymous,

You sounded very well informed about the economy and stock market.
I am suggesting you to write your own website and layout your predictions, analysis and suggestions. But guessing from your cowardly act of not even putting your own name, it might indicate that you are one who posses too much wood elements, who probably suffer massive lost in the crisis and need someone to blame. Since this is a free world, you can post your own comments however you like it, but be a man for once, admit your identity, set up your website and invite others to follow you.
